Effective Date: 01.01.2026
This Refund Policy governs how refunds, reversals, cancellations, and deposit returns are handled on ShareBorrow (“Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
ShareBorrow operates solely as a technology marketplace connecting independent users. We are not the owner of listed items and are not a party to the rental contract between Borrowers and Lenders.
By completing a booking, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy.
1. Marketplace Nature & Responsibility
All rentals are agreements made directly between users.
Refund eligibility depends primarily on:
the lender’s cancellation terms,
timing,
evidence submitted,
compliance with platform rules.
Nothing in this policy guarantees a refund.
2. Borrower Cancellation
If a Borrower cancels a booking, refunds are determined according to the cancellation policy attached to the listing.
Depending on timing and circumstances, the Borrower may receive:
a full refund,
a partial refund,
or no refund.
Once the rental period begins, refunds are normally unavailable.
Failure to collect or accept the item is treated as a cancellation or no-show.
3. Lender Cancellation
If a Lender cancels a confirmed reservation, the Platform may refund the Borrower according to internal risk and reliability rules.
The Platform may also impose consequences on the Lender including:
financial penalties,
temporary suspension,
permanent removal,
reduced listing visibility.
4. Platform Fees Are Generally Non-Refundable
Service charges, commissions, payment gateway fees, currency conversion costs, and administrative expenses are typically non-refundable, even when a booking is cancelled.
If a refund is granted, these amounts may be deducted.
5. Security Deposits
Security deposits exist to protect the Lender.
By booking, the Borrower authorizes the Platform to deduct from the deposit if necessary.
Deductions may include, but are not limited to:
damage or excessive wear,
loss or theft,
missing accessories,
late return penalties,
cleaning, repair, or replacement costs,
investigation or administrative expenses.
If a dispute is raised, the deposit may remain on hold until a final determination is made.
6. Evidence & Investigation
To evaluate refund or deposit claims, the Platform may require:
photographs,
videos,
invoices,
repair quotations,
communication records,
identity confirmation.
Failure to provide requested documentation may result in denial of the claim.
7. Platform Authority in Disputes
To maintain trust and efficiency, ShareBorrow reserves the right to:
investigate any case,
make determinations at its sole discretion,
split amounts between parties,
deny requests,
release or retain deposits,
recover losses from wallets or future payouts.
Decisions made by the Platform may be considered final and binding.
8. Fraud, Abuse & Manipulation
We maintain zero tolerance for:
false damage claims,
fabricated evidence,
misuse of disputes to avoid payment,
chargeback threats,
collusion between users.
If fraud is suspected, we may:
deny refunds,
freeze balances,
suspend accounts,
recover funds,
report to authorities.
9. Chargebacks & Payment Reversals
If a user initiates a chargeback or payment reversal after receiving services or access to an item, we may:
suspend the account immediately,
recover the amount from wallet balances,
use debt collection measures where permitted.
Administrative and dispute handling fees may also apply.
10. Situations Typically Not Eligible for Refund
Refunds are generally unavailable in cases including:
change of mind,
dissatisfaction not related to misrepresentation,
failure to read listing details,
inability to use the item,
early return,
weather or personal schedule changes.
11. Refund Method & Timing
If approved, refunds may be issued:
to the original payment method,
or to the platform wallet.
Processing time depends on financial institutions and providers.
Delays outside our control may occur.
12. Right to Withhold or Offset
The Platform may withhold, offset, or deduct amounts from current or future payouts to cover:
damages,
unpaid fees,
penalties,
prior losses,
risk prevention measures.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShareBorrow is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from refund decisions or payment outcomes.
14. Amendments
We may update this policy at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
15. Contact
All refund and deposit matters must be submitted through the official Support system within the Platform.
