1. Role of the Platform
ShareBorrow acts as a marketplace facilitator between renters and owners.
The platform does not manufacture, inspect, or physically handle listed items.
2. Security Deposit (Insurance)
A refundable security deposit may be required for certain listings.
The deposit is temporarily held and is not automatically released to the owner.
The deposit may only be used in case of verified damage, misuse, or violation of rental terms.
3. Condition Verification Requirement
To protect both parties, the following is strongly recommended:
The owner must document the item’s condition before handover (photos or video).
The renter must document the item’s condition at the time of pickup.
The owner must document the item again upon return.
Failure to provide proper documentation may affect the outcome of a dispute.
4. Reporting an Issue
Any issue must be reported within 24 hours of:
Item pickup (for functional issues), or
Item return (for damage claims).
Reports must include:
Clear photos or video evidence
Description of the issue
Booking reference number
Late reports may not be accepted.
5. Dispute Review Process
Upon receiving a dispute:
The deposit remains temporarily on hold.
Both parties may be asked to submit evidence.
The platform reviews all submitted documentation.
A final decision is made based on available evidence.
The platform’s decision is final and binding under the agreed Terms of Service.
6. Fraud & Abuse
If either party is found attempting to:
Submit false claims
Manipulate item condition
Provide misleading information
The platform reserves the right to:
Suspend or permanently ban the account
Withhold funds pending investigation
7. Limitation of Liability
ShareBorrow is not liable for indirect losses, personal injury, or misuse of rented items.
Users participate at their own responsibility under agreed rental terms.
